PERVILLE

Up until the Revolution, the parish was dependent upon the Benedictine abbey of St Maurin. In 1287 it formed part of the diocesan territory of Cahors that was ceded by Philippe le Bel to Edward I of England.

Perville was the birthplace of two eminent men: General de Bellecombe (1728-1792), a national figure; and the historian François Moulenq (1814-1892), well-known in the department.
